Hahnemühle Ingres paper was named after the famous French painter Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres (1780 – 1867). These papers are produced on a traditional machine with a cylindrical mold, have a slightly rough surface, and come with an irregular textured edge ( deckle edge , Büttenrand ), and on each sheet there is a Hahnemühle watermark. 12 fade-resistant colors are available that offer a wide range of options for artists, graphic artists and bookbinders, and are ideal for a wide variety of printing techniques, making covers and bindings. Ingres is also often used as a front sheet in bookbinding and book restoration and as a base for marbled papers (for marbling). Thanks to its finely structured surface and color, this light paper enables the use of various painting and drawing techniques – such as pastels. These quality acid-free papers are resistant to aging and fully meet DIN 6738 and ISO 9706 standards.
