Headbands strips located at the top and bottom of the spine of the book block, although small in size, play a significant role in the production of hard book bindings. In addition to protecting the book block from dust and hiding the view of the applied gluing and sewing techniques, capital ribbons also have a strengthening function, because books are usually carelessly removed from the shelves by pulling on the upper part of the book’s spine.
Capitals must also meet the aesthetic criteria. Our machine-woven viscose headbands are made in an extraordinary variety of color combinations and will give every binding a unique decorative and luxurious touch in addition to protection.
