An example of making a box from acid-free archival cardboard

Scalpels, a cutting pad and a Teflon spatula were used when making the archival box from premium acid-free archival cardboard. The archive box is connected using bookbinding cloth and pH neutral glue . For easier assembly, we would recommend linen self-adhesive tape (for smaller book formats) or Tyvek – self-adhesive tape . The closing system of the box is solved using velcro .

Premium acid-free archival cardboard is popular due to its very favorable price, however, due to the specific method of production, it is only suitable for the production of small and medium format boxes. For larger format boxes, if you want an extremely flat page surface, use museum cardboard or corrugated acid-free cardboard .
